ABOUT US
Fool’s Gold is a studio project by artists Rachel Reichert and Alex Gartelmann. What began as an exploration of table-based objects, material process, and gathering friends has slowly evolved into a small-scale production studio and series of intimate events rooted in exchange, ritual, humor, generosity, and experimentation.
Working between studio craft, design, and fabrication, Fool’s Gold develops objects and moments intended to live alongside daily life. Our projects take shape through continued time and use. Each piece is produced in small batches through a combination of digital and traditional studio-based processes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
ABOUT OUR STUDIO
Part artist studio, part gathering space, the Fool’s Gold studio functions as an active site for material experimentation, production, collaboration, and ongoing exchange. The starting place for everything we do.
ABOUT OUR OBJECTS
Each Fool’s Gold object begins as a study in form, material process, and use. Drawing from cherished domestic objects, manufacturing histories, studio craft traditions, and the social rituals that gather us around a table, the work treats everyday objects as sites of memory.
Moving fluidly between drawings, 3D modeling, custom tool-making, casting, fabrication, finishing, and small-batch production, each piece retains visible traces of labor and making within the final object.
Produced in small batches in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, these works are intended to live alongside daily life, slowly developing character through use and time.
